A 13-year old girl was gang raped by by gunmen on Thursday evening while returning from their farm in Kudodo village of Shiroro in Niger State.
The New Daily Prime understands that the 13-year old girl was returning from their farm along with her brother, Rabiu Bawa on Thursday before gunmen raped her.
“A 13 year old (name withheld) from Kudodo village was raped by bandits while returning from their farm together with his senior brother. It happened this evening while heading home”, a source very close to the family told this reporter on Telephone chat.
He further stated that the renewed activities of banditry in Lakpma axis, Shiroro LG, Niger state is seriously alarming.
This newspaper could not independently verify the condition of the raped girl by the gunmen.
But Police spokesman, Wasiu Abiodun was not available for comments. Message sent to him remained unanswered as of the time of publishing this report.
This is coming barely 24 hours after gunmen abducted at least 20 farmers inclining four pregnant women in Erana on Wednesday.
A community source who spoke to New Daily Prime on Thursday, confirmed that the abduction occurred on Wednesday in Erana ward of Shiroro.
“There was an attack in Erena ward yesterday earlier in the morning in which 9 people were abducted. They rode in 15 bikes with 3 of them in each bike”, Erena told this reporter in Telephone chat.
He further stated that the terrorists attacked with sophisticated weapons even with MMG, scaring residents and shooting.
“But there were no casualties, only the abduction of four male and five females,including 2 pregnant women with an 8-year child”, he said. They took away two new Bajaj motorcycles during the raid”.
According to him, The terrorists didn’t shoot sporadically when they arrived but shot when they were about to leave. They shot Ak-riffles to signal that they were around.
He further stated that 9 only persons were confirmed to be kidnapped in Ungwar Kawo.
The police spokesman in the state, Wasiu Abiodun also confirmed the incident but said that only 10 persons were kidnapped during the raid.
