Ahead of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025, the Confederation of African Football (CAF), in partnership with global sports brand PUMA, has unveiled the tournament’s official match ball.
The ball, named ITRI, will make its debut when the AFCON Morocco 2025 kicks off on 21 December 2025.
PUMA introduced the ITRI ball, which honors the star on Morocco’s flag and draws inspiration from the country’s centuries-old zellij mosaic art. Its design combines traditional Moroccan geometric patterns with the advanced PUMA Orbita 6 technology, blending heritage with modern performance.
Mohamed Ghonemi, CAF’s Creative Development Manager, highlighted the cultural significance of the ball stating that AFCON 2025 embodies both the African spirit and Moroccan craftsmanship.
”Designed for the rhythm of African football, the AFCON 2025 ball unites art, movement, and African craftsmanship. Collaborating with PUMA on a ball that connects all nations at the tournament has been a true privilege.”
Peter Dangl, Director EEMEA Distribution at PUMA also expressed pride in unveiling the ITRI ball as a symbol of African football’s passion.
”We’re thrilled to unveil the ITRI ball – the official match ball of AFCON 2025 – a symbol of the passion and spirit of African football. Combining Moroccan artistry with high-performance technology, ITRI celebrates the host nation and the unity of the continent. Our partnership with CAF underscores PUMA’s dedication to African football and its communities.”
