Former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, has declared his readiness to align with any political formation aimed at removing President Bola Tinubu from office in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during an interview on Arise Television, Lamido criticised the current administration for what he described as divisive governance and a misuse of state institutions to suppress opposition voices.
As the country’s political landscape begins to heat up ahead of the 2027 polls, a coalition of opposition leaders last week launched a new political platform the All Democratic Alliance (ADA).
The party, spearheaded by former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and the immediate past Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir el-Rufai, aims to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at the ballot box.
Lamido, a chieftain of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), expressed strong dissatisfaction with the APC-led federal government, alleging that the administration has deepened ethnic divisions and prioritised party loyalty over national interest.

“I am part of any arrangement, no matter its nomenclature, to remove this government of incompetence and insecurity a government that is dividing Nigeria firmly between north and south,” Lamido said.
He continued: “I will be part of any arrangement or configuration if it is going to remove this government from power.”
Lamido’s comments come as the opposition intensifies its efforts to unite and present a formidable challenge to the APC, which has governed since 2015.
Critics of the Tinubu administration have increasingly pointed to growing political unrest, economic challenges, and allegations of authoritarian tendencies as reasons for a change in leadership.
Whether the emerging alliances will succeed in unseating the incumbent remains to be seen, but the political temperature in Nigeria is clearly on the rise as 2027 draws closer.
