He said each train set comprises four cars, effectively doubling the passenger capacity of the Blue Line.
According to the governor, the new additions will help reduce wait times, accelerate journeys, and improve the reliability of the rail system.
Mr Sanwo-Olu added that the goal is to reduce train intervals to just 10 minutes.
“I unveiled three new train sets for the LRMT Blue Line today, each with four cars. With this addition, we are doubling our current passenger capacity,” Mr Sanwo-Olu stated.
“This will directly improve the commute for thousands of Lagosians.”
The governor expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and the Federal Government, FG, acknowledging their support in the procurement and delivery of the trains.
Mr Sanwo-Olu also disclosed that more developments are expected before the end of the year, including the arrival of new trains for the Red Line, which will have twice the capacity of the Blue Line trains.
