Mrs Okpebholo emphasised that the kidneys play a crucial role in eliminating waste, regulating blood pressure, and maintaining overall well-being.
She stressed the importance of proactive health measures to prevent kidney-related ailments.
“I encourage Nigerians, especially women, to pay attention to their kidney health. The kidneys are crucial for removing waste products, detoxifying the body, regulating blood pressure, and maintaining overall well-being.”

She underscored the importance of regular medical check-ups, stating that early detection can be life-saving.
Speaking during an interactive session with women in Benin City, she outlined key risk factors for kidney disease, including family history, high blood pressure, and diabetes.
Mrs Okpebholo concluded that by taking proactive steps to safeguard their kidney health, women can significantly reduce their risk and lead healthier lives.

“We will continue to promote kidney health and encourage individuals, especially women, to adopt healthy lifestyles and reduce the risk of kidney disease, while also raising awareness about the challenges faced by kidney patients and their families,” she added.
