A murder suspect, Anthony Mwenda, has been arrested today for allegedly killing his 24-year-old wife, Millicent Mwendwa, in the Mugirirwa area of Chuka in Meru South of Kenya.

On 11 July, 2024, Mwenda, the alleged suspect, was reported by the chief of Mugwe to have killed his wife after a short misunderstanding between the duo.

Late Mrs. Mwendwa was said to have died from the deep cut she sustained on her head and leg after the family dispute.

They have been married for 2-year.

Revealing the death of late Mrs. Mwendwa via their X page on Tuesday, the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) said, “Neighbours whose attention was drawn to the ruckus arrived at Mwenda’s house to find a profusely bleeding Millicent, and beside her, a Maasai rungu, a black whip, and a panga all soaked in blood. “

“More blood on the wall and floor evidenced the young lady’s struggle to escape with her life.”

However, upon the arrival of the security force at Chuka, they found Mwendwa lying in the pool of her blood.

Following several attempts to arrest the suspect, the security operatives apprehended Mwenda during a manhunt operation at the Wempa location within Murang’a South.

“Acting on forensic intelligence, a joint team of Homicide and Crime Research detectives conducted a crackdown in Murang’a South today, smoking out the suspect from his hideout in the Wempa area.”

Information obtained by The New Daily Prime, the suspect will remain in security custody pending court arraignment on 13 November.
