TWENTY-TWO members of the Delta State House of Assembly, including the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, have formally defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
They defected during Tuesday’s plenary.

Guwor, who announced the defection, disclosed that he had received 22 letters, including his notification of change of membership from the PDP to APC by members of the PDP in the House.
The Speaker said the defection was hinged on the instability of the national leadership of the PDP and factionalisation of the South-South zonal executive of the party.
