Saka limps off England’s home loss in Euro Nations League

Arsenal and England winger Bukayo Saka is set to undergo medical assessment ahead of the Three Lions’ trip to Finland. Saka limped off during England’s 2-1 home defeat to Greece at Wembley. The winger is Arsenal’s latest injury scare as he’s in doubt for England’s next fixture against Finland.
The Three Lions are in dire need of a win against Finland after their disappointing defeat to Greece in front of their home fans. Saka, a crucial part of the team will have to be cleared ahead of the all-important game.
The Arsenal forward was replaced by Noni Madueke in the second half of the defeat to Greece moments before the visitors opened their scoresheet at Wembley. The Three Lions’ interim manager Lee Carsley gave an update on Saka’s situation. He said, “He is being assessed. Obviously, in the build-up to the first goal, I think you could see he felt something in his leg.” In addition to Saka, England captain Harry Kane and Jack Grealish are other players due to be assessed for fitness ahead of the game against Finland.

Saka has been crucial for Arsenal this season, starting every Premier League game for the Gunners so far, as well as their two Champions League games and the Carabao Cup game against Bolton. In seven Premier League starts, Saka has made seven assists and scored two goals. Arsenal are third on the league table, level on points with Manchester City and a point behind league leaders Liverpool.
Mikel Arteta’s side are due to face Bournemouth on October 19 after the international break. Arteta already had to deal with captain Martin Odegaard’s injury which the midfielder sustained during the last international break. Odegaard is not expected back in action for at least another month.
