President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to visit Enugu State on Saturday to commission transformative projects executed under the leadership of Governor Peter Mbah.  

In a statement shared on X today, Governor Mbah announced that the President will inaugurate 30 fully completed and equipped Enugu Smart Green Schools, part of a larger project involving 260 schools currently under construction across the state. 

Additionally, Tinubu will commission 60 completed Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centres, also part of a broader initiative to build 260 such facilities.  

According to Mbah, these projects underscore his administration’s dedication to delivering quality education and ensuring accessible healthcare for all residents.

He tweeted, “The completed multi-auditorium Enugu International Conference Centre, 90 urban roads, and our state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre with 150 patrol vehicles fitted with AI-embedded surveillance cameras are repositioning our state as a hub of progress, safety, and opportunity.

“The President’s visit will be a milestone for us; a testament to our shared vision that is taking shape. We are excited to welcome Mr President to Enugu State.”

Furthermore, he announced that the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, PhD, visited the Government House in preparation for President Tinubu’s state visit tomorrow. 

The governor expressed delight in welcoming him and emphasised his administration’s unwavering commitment to prioritizing the security of lives and property.

He highlighted security as a cornerstone of his strategy to drive Enugu’s economic growth from $4.4 billion to $30 billion through innovative initiatives.

“As I noted during our discussion, businesses can manage financial and commercial risks, but security risks are a dealbreaker.

“His kind words and recognition of our modest efforts, including the establishment of the state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre and the deployment of 150 patrol vehicles fitted with AI-embedded cameras for the Distress Response Squad, underscores the progress we’ve made in creating a safer, smarter Enugu”, he added.
