The Osun State government has unveiled the new minimum wage of N75,000 for its civil servants, following approval by Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The government said the wage increase aims to enhance the welfare of the state’s workforce, comes after careful deliberations by the Public Service Negotiation Committee.
In a statement released from Osogbo on Wednesday, the state Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Alimi, confirmed that the new wage received the executive approval of Governor Adeleke after reviewing the committee’s comprehensive report.
Alimi, a member of the negotiation committee, detailed the collaborative efforts between the state government and the labour team, led by Osun NLC Chairman, Comrade Christopher Arapasopo.

He emphasised that the new wage structure reflects the state’s commitment to social justice, economic growth, and the overall improvement of living standards for Osun’s workers.
“Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration is deeply committed to prioritizing the welfare of civil servants, who tirelessly provide efficient services to the state, despite the limited resources,” the statement read.
The government also urged civil servants to continue to innovate and improve public service delivery, ensuring transparency and accountability in the growth of Osun State.
The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Kazeem Akinleye, praised the smooth execution of the wage negotiations, noting that the committee carried out its responsibilities without hindrance from the government.
Meanwhile, Comrade Arapasopo, speaking on behalf of the labour team, expressed satisfaction with the new wage structure.
He assured that the increase was carefully crafted to align with the current economic conditions of Osun State.

Arapasopo further reiterated the workforce’s strong support for Governor Adeleke’s administration, emphasizing that the new wage would have a positive impact on the financial well-being of all civil servants.
The members of the negotiation committee, which included key figures from both the government and the labour team, were acknowledged for their efforts in reaching a fair and sustainable wage agreement.
