Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has called on voters to support Sola Ebiseni, the party’s candidate in the upcoming Ondo State Governorship election this Saturday.
In a post on his X page on Tuesday, Obi highlighted his discussions with Ebiseni and praised his experience as the Secretary of Afenifere, which strengthened his belief in Ebiseni’s competence and capacity to effectively govern the state.
The former Governor of Anambra State urged residents to reject the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming election, describing the party as one known for transactional politics that has exacerbated the country’s challenges and contributed to widespread misgovernance.

Mr Obi said: “Notwithstanding the myriads of challenges plaguing our electoral system and the unsettling criticisms shadowing recent elections at all levels, I remain steadfast in my commitment to democracy in Nigeria.
“It is this conviction that propelled me to travel by road to Ondo State yesterday to campaign alongside our Labour Party Governorship Candidate, Hon. Sola Ebiseni—a candidate I believe possesses the competence and capacity to govern the State effectively.
“Despite the current challenges, I remain hopeful that committed, capable leadership can and will turn things around. A new Nigeria is possible.”
