The national secretariat of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was a flurry of activity on Wednesday morning as party leaders, governors, and top officials gathered for the much-anticipated National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.

The meeting, which has long been awaited, attracted a host of prominent APC figures, with early arrivals including members of the National Working Committee (NWC), state chairmen of the party, and several notable former and current officeholders.

Among those seen arriving were former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, former Kebbi State Governor and current Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, and the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu.

In addition to these key figures, the meeting is expected to be attended by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas.

As early as 8:30 a.m., the area surrounding the APC headquarters was buzzing with activity. Vehicles filled the streets, and party supporters could be seen enthusiastically displaying APC banners and blaring music in celebration.

The heavy presence of security personnel, including agents from the Department of State Services (DSS), ensured that the venue was well-guarded. Stern-looking security officers were stationed at the entry and exit points to maintain order and prevent any untoward incidents.

The APC NEC meeting, an important event for the party’s leadership, is expected to feature key deliberations on the party’s future direction and governance, among other critical matters. With several high-profile figures in attendance, the meeting is set to be a pivotal moment in the party’s political calendar.
