A fire outbreak has razed a section of Queen Elizabeth Hall, a female students’ hostel at the University of Ibadan, in the early hours of Thursday.
Queen Elizabeth Hall is the first female hostel of the school.
The fire affected administrative sections, including the office of the Hall Warden and the Secretary.
Firefighters from the university reportedly prevented the fire from spreading further.
Upon investigation, this reporter observed that only the office of the Warden and the office of the Secretary of the Warden were affected.
She noted that efforts are ongoing to assess the extent of the damage and investigate the cause of the fire.
However, no casualties have been reported at the time of press.
