In a move to enhance the efficiency of government communication, President Bola Tinubu has approved the restructuring of the State House media and communications team.

Bayo Onanuga, his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy said the changes involve the re-designation of roles for two recently appointed officials.

Onanuga said the restructure is aimed at streamlining communication efforts and ensuring clarity in the dissemination of government policies and engagements.

The new designations are as follows: Sunday Dare previously Special Adviser on Public Communication and National Orientation, is now Special Adviser, Media and Public Communications.

Daniel Bwala initially appointed as Special Adviser, Media and Public Communication, is now Special Adviser, Policy Communication.

These appointments, along with Onanuga’s existing role as Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, emphasised a team-based approach to government communication.

The statement clarified that there is no single individual serving as the spokesperson for the presidency. Instead, all three Special Advisers will collectively represent the government’s communication efforts.

The restructuring aims to ensure a more effective and consistent delivery of the administration’s messages to the public.
