The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Kenya has announced that the suspected killer of a mother, her daughter, and her 12-year-old niece has been apprehended and is awaiting charges in court tomorrow.
This development follows an appeal from homicide detectives to the public to keep a watch over the alleged killer, identified as Hashim Dagane Muhumed.
The team of detectives describes the suspect’s actions as monstrous, labeling him the prime suspect.
The identities of the three murder suspects were not disclosed
Investigations revealed that the 24-year-old alleged killer was captured on CCTV as he picked up the victims on October 21 in a Nissan Note vehicle with the registration number KDQ 718Y, before their bodies were discovered.
Further details indicated that the vehicle was left abandoned at Wakulima Market near the ENA Coach stage and was later moved to the DCI Headquarters for forensic examination.
Once the forensic examination was completed, evidence was linked to the suspect, Muhumed.
The DCI stated, “With one suspect in custody and assisting in the investigation, we appeal to anyone who may have information that could assist in the arrest of Hashim Dagane Muhumed to #FichuakwaDCI by calling our toll-free hotline at 0800 722 203 or reporting to any police station.”
The New Daily Prime learned that a manhunt was launched for the suspect following the announcement of his arrest.
The DCI stated, “Muhumed is currently in police custody, where he is undergoing processing ahead of his arraignment scheduled for tomorrow at the Makadara Chief Magistrates Court.”
Security personnel emphasized their commitment to ensuring that justice is served for the victims and their grieving families.
