Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing the welfare of the people of Ekiti State. Oyebanji’s reassurance came after a series of closed-door meetings with top federal government officials in Abuja, including ministers and heads of federal agencies.
The governor’s special adviser on media, Yinka Oyebode, disclosed that Oyebanji visited key federal ministries, including Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Works, and Education. These meetings were aimed at strengthening federal presence in Ekiti State and fast-tracking development.
During his meeting with the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe, Oyebanji discussed potential collaborations on federal initiatives. These initiatives include livelihood support, conditional cash transfers for women, support for small and medium enterprises, and assistance for persons with disabilities.
Oyebanji commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing a capable minister to oversee the critical ministry, describing it as a strategic institution for improving livelihoods and providing safety nets for Nigerians.
The governor also met with the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, to secure federal support for key developmental initiatives in Ekiti State. Oyebanji reiterated his administration’s resolve to foster meaningful partnerships that would transform education and human capital development in the state.
In addition, Oyebanji visited the Ministry of Works, where he met with the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, and the Permanent Secretary. These meetings demonstrate Oyebanji’s efforts to explore every opportunity to enhance the welfare of Ekiti people.
Oyebanji’s commitment to the welfare of Ekiti people is also reflected in the state’s 2025 budget, which focuses on agricultural development and prioritizes the welfare of citizens.
The governor has expressed his target to grow enough food to feed Ekiti people, showcasing his dedication to food security and sustainable development.
