Ahead of the planned EndBadGovernance protest scheduled for tomorrow, October 1, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has deployed a significant number of personnel and equipment across Abuja.
In a statement, Police Public Relations Officer Josephine Adeh explained that the deployment is part of preparations for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations.
She emphasised that the proactive security measures are designed to ensure a smooth and peaceful celebration for residents of the FCT.
She added that the deployment will include Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) teams, anti-riot gear, enhanced visibility policing, and other strategic resources.
“Traffic diversions will be implemented in areas expected to experience large crowds, including Central Area and Eagle Square.
