Reports making the rounds on social media suggest that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, recently collapsed during a meeting in Abuja. The incident, reportedly linked to excessive alcohol consumption, has sparked widespread concern, though no official confirmation has been issued by Wike’s aides or government representatives.

An X (formerly Twitter) user, @ahanaelroi, claimed in a post that has garnered over 700,000 impressions that Wike was diagnosed with a partial stroke after the collapse. According to the user, the minister was rushed to the State House Clinic, where doctors allegedly discovered a dangerously high level of alcohol in his system, which may have triggered the stroke.

“BREAKING NEWS: @GovWike Collapses During Meeting in Abuja Due to Excessive Alcohol Consumption; Diagnosed with Partial Stroke,” the viral tweet read. The post also noted that medical experts fear Wike’s condition may be irreversible, warning that he might never regain full mobility.

Following this alarming development, Wike was reportedly flown to France for advanced treatment. Sources cited by Instagram blog Sabi Radio claim that Wike’s condition is dire, with one anonymous insider allegedly stating that the former governor “might not be able to walk again if he comes out alive.”

Despite the growing speculation, there has been no official statement from Wike’s camp to confirm or deny the claims. Meanwhile, Nigerians on social media remain divided, with some expressing concern and others urging caution until verified information is released.

As of the time of this report, the situation remains shrouded in uncertainty. The public awaits an official update on Wike’s health status and the veracity of the claims circulating online.
