Lagos State University (LASU) has launched a new cutting-edge application, LASU Talkspace, aimed at transforming the way the university community and the general public engage in virtual meetings, conferences, and seminars.

Developed by the university’s Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (DICT), under the leadership of Prof. Toyin Enikuomehin, the platform is set to provide a secure, efficient, and reliable alternative to popular virtual meeting tools like Zoom, Teams, and Google Meet.

According to a statement from DICT, the app has received approval from the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, and is now accessible to both LASU staff and the general public. Staff members can use LASU Talkspace free of charge with their official LASU staff email addresses.

For the wider public, a subscription model has been introduced, with fees varying based on the type of service required.

The introduction of LASU Talkspace is part of the university’s ongoing commitment to embracing technological advancements and fostering a more connected, collaborative environment within and outside its community.

The app’s development comes at a time when virtual platforms are playing an increasingly vital role in academic and professional engagements.

By providing a platform tailored to the needs of its users, LASU aims to enhance the quality and security of online interactions, ensuring that both internal and external stakeholders can engage seamlessly in a variety of virtual events.

The university’s proactive approach reflects its vision of leveraging technology to promote educational growth and connectivity, aligning with global trends in the digital transformation of learning and communication.
