The Kwara State Government commenced a free breast and cervical cancer screening on Monday, targeting citizens across all sixteen Local Government Areas of the state.
In a statement, Falade Gbenga, Press Secretary for the Ministry of Health, relayed that Commissioner Amina El-Imam announced the screenings following Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s approval of free medical outreach programs across the state.
The Commissioner emphasized that the screenings will benefit the people, particularly the underprivileged, leading to improved healthcare standards and services.
El-Imam reaffirmed that this newly approved cancer screening is part of the administration’s commitment to delivering quality healthcare to all residents of Kwara State.
According to her, “Medical Experts will be on ground to screen and lead positive cases to affordable treatment, as early discovery leads to better treatment.”
She urged the people of Kwara to take advantage of the golden opportunity to undergo breast and cervical cancer screenings.
The screenings kick off at Bode-Saadu Primary Health Care Center in Moro Local Government. The medical team will then continue the exercise on Thursday at Osi Primary Health Care Center in Ekiti Local Government.
Additionally, on Monday, the team will move to Pakata Primary Health Care in Ilorin West Local Government.
