A Chief Magistrate Court in Iyaganku, Ibadan, Oyo State has remanded three prominent individuals in connection to the tragic stampede at Bashorun Islamic High School, Ibadan.
The remanded individuals are Abdullahi Fasasi, the school’s principal; Oriyomi Hamzat, owner of Agidigbo FM; and Naomi Silekunola, the former wife of Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife.
The New Daily Prime earlier reported that the police confirmed 35 children dead as well as the arrest of Naomi, the funfair organiser and seven others.
Chief Magistrate Olabisi Ogunkanmi presided over the case on Tuesday, as the trio was arraigned by the Oyo State Police Command.

The hearing, held amidst tight security, drew a large crowd of relatives and onlookers.
The defendants face a four-count charge, including allegations of violating Section 324 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 38, Vol. II, Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
Following the proceedings, the court ordered their remand at the Agodi Correctional Centre, pending further directives from the state prosecutor.
