Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, has presented the 2025 budget proposal to the State House of Assembly.
In a statement shared on his X (formerly Twitter) page, Governor Otu described the budget, titled ‘Sustainable Development’, as a reflection of his administration’s commitment to prioritizing the people.
Otu said with a total allocation of N498 billion, the budget is designed to drive inclusive growth and enhance the quality of life for every citizen.
“This Appropriation Bill is the result of meaningful conversations with stakeholders from all three Senatorial Districts, ensuring that we capture the hopes and needs of our community.

“Total Budget: N498 billion, Capital Expenditure: N328 billion (66%), Recurrent Expenditure: N170 billion (34%). We’re prioritizing essential areas like infrastructure, education, health, and agriculture, all designed to enhance the quality of life for the people of Cross River State”, the governor said.
He stated that his administration remains fully committed to sustainable development, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
