Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has sworn in the newly appointed Chairman of the Governing Council for Osun State College of Education, Ila-Orangun (OSCE). The state government, in a statement shared on its official X page on Monday, emphasised the ceremony’s significance, which was held at the Executive Council Chambers Lounge of the Governor’s office.

The statement added that the event underscored the institution’s critical role in advancing education within the southwestern region of Nigeria. “Osun state college of education, ila-orangun is one of the foremost colleges of education in the south-western region of Nigeria, the school has produced people of great minds, tutors, and outstanding dignitaries in the society”, the statement added.

The governor, represented by the State Secretary, Teslim Igbalaye, commended the college for its rich legacy of producing exceptional educators and leaders. He expressed full confidence in Mr. Sarafa Akinyele’s impressive qualifications and extensive experience. Mr Adeleke highlighted Mr Akinyele’s comprehensive academic background, noting that it would significantly contribute to the growth of the college and the state. “With all the glowing recommendations about Mr. Sarafa Akinyele, his appointment is truly a case of a round peg in a round hole,” the governor said.

He congratulated Mr Akinyele on his well-deserved appointment, wishing
him great success in his new role.
