Afashio community, Uzairue in Etsako West Local Government government Area of Edo State was thrown into confusion on Wednesday as five persons were reportedly found dead in a room.
According to Daily Post, the deceased, made up of four boys and a girl were alleged to have been found dead in the room in questionable circumstances.
According to sources, two of the victims were brothers while the other three, including the female, were their friends.
The corpses of the deceased were said to have been discovered by a family members who noticed that they were yet to come out of the room.
But on getting to the room, he found their lifeless bodies.
Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the Edo State Police Command, SP Moses Yamu said, “The Command is aware. But investigation to unravel the cause of death is ongoing.”
Meanwhile, a source in the community said the suspected cause of the deaths was food poisoning as there was no sign of assault or marks on their bodies.
He said the incident was reported at the Jattu Police Division even as the family members were trying to unravel the cause of their death.
