The faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by Tony Okocha in Rivers State has told the state governor, Siminalayi Fubara to either resign or be impeached by the State House of Assembly.

The APC factional leader, Okocha, who gave the ultimatum during a press briefing in Port Harcourt, the state capital on Monday, accused the governor of gross maladministration and plunging the state into needless and avoidable crisis.

According to Okocha, the governor has only two options – resignation or impeachment, alleging that the Fubara-led government has led the state into numerous problems that have earned the state a tag of infamy in the comity of states and in the estimation of Nigerians.

He further claimed that the Supreme Court, in its verdict, indicated that there is no functional government in Rivers State, citing multiple infractions by the governor, which he described as impeachable offences.

Okocha also asserted that Fubara has lost the authority to summon Assembly members for discussions.
