Songstress Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, known as Ayra Starr, has expressed outrage over the murder of Idowu Christianah, a 300-level student at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).
Earlier, the New Daily Prime reported that Ayomide Adeleye, a 200-level Philosophy student at Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ogun State, confessed to the 174 Battalion of the Nigerian Army that he murdered Idowu.
Reacting to the incident, the 22-year-old singer took to her X page on Thursday to voice her concerns about the rampant killing of women.
Ayra Starr demanded justice for Idowu and called for an immediate halt to the persistent violence against women.
“Stop killing us! Stop raping us! Women deserve better #JusticeForChristianah,” the singer wrote.
Adeleye is currently in the custody of the Lagos Police Command. The command confirmed this on its X page on Thursday, stating that the matter had been transferred to them for investigation.
The police statement read: “23-year-old Ayomide Adeleye has been handed over to the Lagos Police by the 9 Brigade Nigerian Army. The handover took place today, September 5, 2024, at about 14:00hrs. The investigation is ongoing.”
