Darkoo Slams Peter Okoye for Removing her Song

Rising star Darkoo has accused Peter Okoye, one half of the famous P-Square duo, of attempting to sabotage her new single, “Focus On Me.”

In a viral post on X (formerly Twitter), Darkoo claimed that Okoye, also known as Mr. P, took down the music video for her track from YouTube. The video was removed on the grounds of alleged copyright infringements.

“Focus On Me” hit a setback
The single, which dropped on January 2, 2024, quickly gained attention, but it was taken down shortly after its release.

Darkoo is now speaking out, asserting that Okoye’s actions were driven by personal grievances and a desire for revenge.

According to her, the removal was a calculated move to hurt the song’s success because she refused to include him in the project.

A rejected request and growing tensions
Darkoo detailed the situation, revealing that Okoye had initially expressed interest in being featured on the track.

However, when she declined his request, things began to take a negative turn. The singer claims that Okoye’s decision to remove the video was a direct response to her refusal to give him a spot on the song.

“He took down my music video for 6 days, trying to sabotage the release completely,” Darkoo said. “I had all the necessary clearances for the sample. They were already receiving 50% of the song’s earnings, but Peter still wanted to be on it. He even went as far as creating a new verse for the song.”

Okoye’s frustration and attempts to control the situation
Darkoo went on to explain that Okoye’s behavior became increasingly erratic after she declined his request.

She says that he instructed her not to speak to his twin brother, Paul Okoye, and their older brother, Jude Okoye, who also manages P-Square. Despite these demands, she still hoped to work with Mr. P on a remix of the song, offering him an opportunity to join the project on those terms.

However, Darkoo claims that Okoye rejected the offer, choosing instead to express his frustration by sabotaging her music video.

“When I suggested he could be on the remix, that wasn’t enough for him,” she said. “He acted out of anger, and it feels like he wanted to make things difficult because I didn’t give in to his demands.”

Darkoo’s disappointment and public reaction
The singer has expressed her disappointment with Okoye’s actions, emphasizing that her decision not to feature him was a professional one. “It is sad and disappointing to see someone act this way,” she said. “Instead of supporting me, he tried to undermine my hard work.”

Darkoo’s accusations are stirring controversy, especially considering Okoye’s history of public feuds. This is not the first time the artist has been involved in a dispute with a fellow musician. Just recently, he made headlines for his ongoing issues with his twin brother, Paul Okoye, and their older brother, Jude Okoye.

The tension between the brothers has been a long-standing topic of public discussion, and it appears that Peter’s strained relationships with family members may now be affecting his professional endeavors as well.
