Lagos Commissioner Toke Benson-Awoyinka announced Greater Lagos Countdown 2025 with Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Seyi Vibez, and Olamide on Dec. 31.
Benson-Awoyinka emphasized that the event aims to usher in the New Year in style, offering a 24-hour celebration packed with music, culture, and entertainment. The festivities will kick off at 7:00 p.m. and run throughout the night, ensuring a memorable transition into 2025.
In her statement, Benson-Awoyinka highlighted the Greater Lagos Countdown as a unique platform for uniting residents while showcasing the rich cultural diversity and vibrant energy of Lagos.
She described the upcoming event as more than just a celebration, but a tribute to the spirit of the city and its people.
“This year, the event will feature a lineup of Afrobeat superstars, including Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Seyi Vibez, and the legendary Olamide, alongside other renowned artists,” Benson-Awoyinka said.
The performances will be held simultaneously across the five IBILE divisions of Lagos: Ikorodu Townhall, Badagry Grammar School, Agege Stadium, Epe Recreation Centre, and Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS).

The event will reach its peak with a dazzling fireworks display at midnight, symbolizing the start of the New Year.
