Raheem Sterling has officially departed Chelsea Football Club by mutual agreement, the club confirmed on Tuesday.
The 31 year old leaves after three-and-a-half seasons at Stamford Bridge, having joined Chelsea in the summer of 2022 following his transfer from Manchester City.
During his time with the Blues, the England international was a regular presence in the squad and contributed across multiple campaigns.
In a statement published on Chelsea’s official website, the club acknowledged Sterling’s efforts and wished him success in the next phase of his career. “We thank Raheem for the contribution he made while a Chelsea player and wish him well for the next stage in his career,” the statement read.

In the Premier League, Sterling made 59 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 14 goals and registering 7 assists, for a total of 21 goal contributions. He recorded 6 goals and 3 assists during the 2022–23 season, followed by 8 goals and 4 assists in the 2023–24 campaign. These figures reflect league matches only and do not include domestic cup or European competitions.
Despite his contributions on the pitch, Sterling did not win any major trophies during his spell at Chelsea. The club’s closest success in that period came in the 2023–24 season, when they finished as runners-up in the EFL Cup (Carabao Cup).
Sterling now moves on from Chelsea as he prepares for the next chapter of his professional career.
