Shettima’s first port of call is the GLC Stadium in Nongo, Conakry, where he will attend the presidential inauguration of President Mamadi Doumbouya.on Saturday, January 17, 2026.
The visit is a vital component of the “Renewed Hope” agenda’s focus on regional stability.
As a leading voice in ECOWAS, Nigeria’s presence signals strong support for Guinea’s return to constitutional governance following a four-year transition period.
Beyond politics, the visit aims to boost a flourishing trade relationship. Recent data shows Nigerian exports to Guinea—ranging from manufactured goods to agricultural products—have climbed to $3.29 million, a figure both nations are eager to expand.
From the inauguration, Shettima will fly directly to Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, for the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum, scheduled for January 19–23, 2026.
Under the theme “A Spirit of Dialogue,” the forum will gather 400 top political leaders and 850 CEOs to tackle the world’s most pressing challenges.
Shettima is expected to pitch Nigeria’s ongoing economic reforms to global investors, highlighting the country as a prime destination for sustainable capital.
The Nigerian delegation focused on several key areas. They will explore the responsible deployment of frontier technologies, including AI, quantum computing, and biotechnology.
They will also emphasise investing in skills to prepare the workforce for a rapidly changing digital economy.
Additionally, the delegation will highlight the importance of promoting sustainable development through the energy transition across emerging markets.
Shettima is slated to hold bilateral meetings with international heads of state and business moguls to discuss Africa’s role in an inclusive global future.
