Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has launched the All Progressives Congress (APC) membership e-registration exercise, targeting at least two million members across the state.
The flag-off took place yesterday in Owo, Nkanu East Local Government Area. Mbah described the initiative as a pivotal moment, solidifying Enugu’s shift from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC following his defection in October 2025.

“The era of fragmented politics that denied Enugu federal benefits is over,” Mbah said. “We want to be at the centre and play dominant politics.”
He stressed the need for strong political support to secure equitable treatment from the federal government, noting: “We cannot give five per cent and expect the same as those who gave 95 per cent.”
Mbah emphasised that the drive extends beyond government, requiring grassroots efforts in every household.
“We are APC in the morning, APC in the afternoon, and APC at night,” he declared, adding that the move strengthens the party without displacing existing members.

He highlighted President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme, projected to empower 8.8 million people directly and lift 40 million out of poverty indirectly.
APC Deputy National Chairman (South), Chief Emma Eneukwu, praised the e-registration for modernising the party’s database, requiring National Identification Numbers for accuracy.
Enugu APC caretaker chairman, Dr Ben Nwoye, said the exercise would reposition the party for contemporary challenges.
