Nigerian music star Burna Boy has made history after his I Told Them tour emerged as the highest-grossing tour by an African artist ever.
According to tour monitoring platform reports, the I Told Them tour grossed $30.5 million from 302,801 tickets sold across 22 shows in Europe and North America.
“@burnaboy’s I Told Them… is officially the highest-grossing tour by any Afrobeats artist in history, with $30.5 million from 302,801 tickets sold in 22 shows,” the platform stated.

Burna Boy also broke another major record during the tour, delivering the highest-grossing single concert by any African artist.
His performance at London Stadium on June 29, 2024, generated $6.147 million from 58,973 tickets sold, setting a new benchmark for African artists globally.
A breakdown of the tour’s earnings shows that North America accounted for $15.19 million, with 152,378 tickets sold across 16 shows, while Europe contributed $15.27 million from 150,423 tickets sold in six shows.
Despite Burna Boy’s historic achievement, American pop star Taylor Swift continues to hold the global record for the highest-grossing music tour of all time.
Her Eras tour reportedly generated $2 billion from 149 shows over 21 months, doubling the previous record set by Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
Burna Boy’s milestone further underscores the growing global influence and commercial power of Afrobeats on the world stage.
