Controversial Nigerian entertainer Uche Maduagwu has publicly apologised to Afrobeats star Davido and his wife, Chioma Adeleke, over sustained online attacks against the couple.
Maduagwu made the apology in an emotional video shared on his Instagram page on Thursday, where he expressed deep regret for deliberately trolling the singer and his family on social media.
In the video, the actor confessed that he was paid ₦2.5 million to criticise Davido online, disclosing that he was not acting alone but was part of a group of five Nigerian influencers allegedly sponsored to ridicule the music star and his wife.

According to him, Davido had done nothing to warrant the attacks, describing his actions as wrong and driven by financial inducement.
“I was paid to ridicule your wife and your family. I’m not the only one; we were like five different influencers in Nigeria that were paid,” Maduagwu said.
He further urged other individuals involved in the alleged scheme to come forward, return the money they were paid, and apologise to the singer.
“I want to apologise to Davido, please forgive me. I collected over ₦2 million to ridicule you and I’m sorry. Others please return the money they paid you to criticise this guy. He has not done anything wrong,” he added.
Captioning the video, Maduagwu wrote an emotional plea, calling on fans to help him seek Davido’s forgiveness.
“God, I’m in tears now. I just want @davido to forgive me. We are five influencers paid to criticise Davido. Every criticism you constantly see about Davido and his wife online was paid for. Can you people help me beg 001 to forgive me?” he wrote.
As of the time of filing this report, Davido and Chioma Adeleke are yet to publicly respond to the apology.
