He said the operation was conducted on Friday by a joint team of the Force Intelligence Department–Intelligence Response Team (FID–IRT) and the Kwara State Police Command.
Hundeyin added that the suspects were intercepted during a covert mission along the Komen–Masallaci axis in Kaiama Local Government Area.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Abubakar Usman (alias Siddi), 26, identified as the individual recently seen in a viral social media video flaunting firearms and large sums of cash and Shehu Mohammadu (alias Gide), 30.

During the arrest, police operatives recovered several items linked to criminal activities, including one AK-47 rifle with a magazine loaded with 20 rounds of live ammunition, ₦500,000 in cash identified by the police as unspent ransom money, and a Honda Ace 125 motorcycle.
A brand-new red motorcycle valued at ₦1,850,000 was also recovered, with investigations revealing that it was purchased using proceeds from ransom payments.
