Nigerian singer and producer Abdulrasheed Bello, popularly known as JJC Skillz, has accused music heavyweights Don Jazzy and D’banj of betraying him during their early years in the United Kingdom.
JJC made the allegation during a recent interview on Echo Room, where he spoke openly about his relationship with the duo and other creatives at a time when they were still struggling to find their footing in the music industry.
According to him, the experience remains one of the most painful moments of his career.

He claimed that Don Jazzy, D’banj, and others worked closely with him in the UK and enjoyed his full support. JJC said he accommodated them, fed them, clothed them, and took them along to shows when they were unknown artists trying to survive abroad.
“Don Jazzy, D’banj, Ayo, DJ Abass; all of them conspired against me,” JJC said. “Taz brought a guy called Don Jazzy to me, and Ayo came through Abass. I met them because they were running a TV station.”
JJC explained that at the time, he believed they were friends and partners working toward a common goal. He said he trusted them and saw no reason to suspect any hidden agenda.
At some point, JJC said he approached them for help, hoping they could connect him to the Nigerian music scene. He described himself as a “JJC,” meaning someone who was not fully connected or experienced in the Nigerian industry at the time.
“One day, I told them, ‘You guys are well connected to Nigeria. I just need someone to introduce me to the right people so I can work back home,’” he said. “They agreed and connected me to Bankulli.”
According to JJC, Don Jazzy and D’banj were still under his guidance during that period. He said he was shocked to later discover that the same people he trusted allegedly had plans he knew nothing about.
The situation, he said, became clearer after he heard comments attributed to D’banj through fellow rapper Ruggedman. JJC claimed Ruggedman told him that D’banj had accused him of cheating them during their time working together in the UK.
“I was shocked,” JJC said. “Nobody knew them then. I was the one taking them to shows. I was accommodating them, feeding them, and clothing them.”
He questioned how accusations of cheating could arise when, according to him, no money had been made at the time.
“So how can I be cheating you when you haven’t made any money?” he asked.
JJC’s claims paint a picture of betrayal and broken trust among creatives who later became some of the biggest names in Nigerian music.
His account suggests that what began as a supportive relationship eventually ended in misunderstanding and separation.
The allegations have since stirred reactions among fans, with many expressing surprise at the revelations. Others have called for Don Jazzy and D’banj to respond and share their own side of the story.
As of the time of this report, Don Jazzy, D’banj, and the other individuals mentioned have not publicly reacted to JJC Skillz’s claims.
The interview has reopened conversations about loyalty, trust, and power dynamics in the entertainment industry, especially among artists who rise together but later fall apart. For JJC Skillz, the experience appears to remain a lasting reminder of how quickly relationships can change in the pursuit of success.
