Olympique Lyonnais are delighted to welcome Brazilian international forward Endrick, who will join the professional squad from 29 December, after finalizing a loan deal with Real Madrid.
The French club expressed their gratitude to the Spanish giants, saying they “would like to thank Real Madrid for the quality of the discussions and cooperation that made his arrival possible.”
The 19-year-old arrives on a paid loan worth up to €1 million until the end of the season.
In a statement, Lyon said: “Olympique Lyonnais is delighted to announce that an agreement has been reached with Real Madrid for the arrival of Brazilian international forward Endrick, on a paid loan worth up to €1 million, until the end of the season.”
Despite his young age, Lyon believe Endrick brings maturity and top-level experience. According to the club, “At just 19 years of age, Endrick joins OL with already solid experience at the very highest level and a maturity forged in demanding competitive environments.”
They also emphasised his impact on the squad: “His attacking profile, his impact in decisive areas, and his energy are major assets as the team heads into the second half of the season, with many objectives still to be achieved.”
Born in Taguatinga, near Brasília, Endrick Felipe Moreira de Sousa began his football journey at Palmeiras, where he quickly made a name for himself.
Lyon recalled that he “began playing football at the Palmeiras academy, where he quickly established himself as one of the most promising talents of his generation.” He was described as “a natural goalscorer” who stood out early, winning honors such as the Montaigu Tournament in 2022.
His career progressed quickly. Lyon noted that “At just 16, he signed his first professional contract with Palmeiras and made his Brazilian league debut against Coritiba CFC.” He went on to “confirm his immense potential before committing to Real Madrid, whom he joined upon reaching adulthood in the summer of 2024.”
Before moving to Europe, Endrick nicknamed “Bobby” made 82 appearances for Palmeiras, scoring 21 goals and winning the Brazilian championship twice.
Since joining Real Madrid, he has continued developing, with Lyon stating that “With 7 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions, he has shown his ability to be decisive.”
The club also highlighted his international rise, describing him as “a fast, technical, and clinical forward” who “has also established himself with the Brazilian national team, moving from youth squads to the Seleção in just a few months.” At senior level, they noted, “At 19, he already has 14 caps and 3 goals for Brazil.”
