The Super Eagles of Nigeria have retained their 38th position in the FIFA Men’s World Rankings released in December 2025.
As of Monday’s update, Nigeria remains the fifth-highest ranked team in Africa, trailing Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, and Algeria. The Super Eagles also kept their November points total of 1,502.
Morocco continues to lead the African continent, sitting 11th in the world rankings, while Senegal occupies 19th place globally. Algeria and Egypt are ranked 34th and 35th respectively, with Nigeria following closely at 38th.

Since April 1998, Morocco’s recent tournament success has pushed them closer to breaking into the world’s top 10 as they trail Croatia by just 0.54 ranking points.
Other African nations within the continent’s top 10 include Tunisia (41st globally), Côte d’Ivoire (42nd), Mali (53rd), DR Congo (56th), and Cameroon (57th).
On the global stage, Spain remains at the summit of the rankings after reclaiming the number one spot from Argentina in September 2025. France sits third, while England, Brazil, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Croatia complete the top 10, with no changes from the previous ranking.
Meanwhile, Norway (29th) and Suriname (123rd) recorded notable improvements, while Jordan (64th), Vietnam (107th), and Singapore (148th) achieved the biggest rises in December, each moving up between two and three places.
