The All Progressives Congress (APC) has assured Nigerians that the country will overcome its current security challenges, declaring that those behind acts of sabotage are destined to fail.
In a statement issued on Friday by the party’s Lagos State Publicity Secretary, Seye Oladejo, the APC urged citizens to remain calm and united despite recent attacks that have heightened national tension.
“The APC is confident that Nigeria will prevail,” Oladejo said, pointing to what he described as “decisive and unprecedented” measures taken by President Bola Tinubu to strengthen national security.
He highlighted the declaration of a state of emergency on security and the approval to recruit an additional 20,000 police personnel, bringing the planned total intake to 50,000.
“These are not cosmetic gestures. They are far reaching actions by a President who refuses to surrender one inch of the country to terrorists or their sponsors,” he stressed.
The party accused opposition elements of “amplifying fear” and portraying recent incidents as evidence of government failure, even as security forces record operational successes.
Oladejo claimed some political actors, unsettled by progress, had issued “prophecies of unrest” shortly before coordinated attacks, and were now seeking foreign intervention by “crying wolf abroad.”
“Who benefits when the country appears ungovernable? Their time is almost up,” he warned.
Addressing public hardship, the APC described current economic discomfort as a transitional phase resulting from bold reforms, including the dismantling of subsidy cartels and forex cabals.
It insisted that agriculture, investment confidence, and industry were already showing signs of revival.
“This storm is temporary. The saboteurs will fail, and Nigeria will rise stronger under a capable and courageous leader,” Oladejo concluded, calling on citizens to keep faith with the Tinubu administration.
