Popular Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has publicly apologised to veteran filmmaker Afeez Owo, bringing an end to their months-long disagreement that played out on social media.
The reconciliation occurred on Wednesday evening at the movie premiere of actor Odunlade Adekola.
In a video that has since gone viral, Wumi was seen approaching Afeez Owo, kneeling before him, and asking for forgiveness.

“I’m sorry, sir. Please forgive me,” she said as Afeez initially attempted to step back. He later lifted her and hugged her, signaling a peaceful resolution.
The conflict began two months ago when Afeez Owo commented on Wumi Toriola’s personality during an appearance on the African A-List podcast.
Afeez had remarked that the roles she played on screen reflected her real-life character, adding that “violence is her comfort zone.”
The statement did not sit well with the actress, who responded with a now-deleted video on Instagram, heavily criticising the veteran actor and dismissing his comments as “rubbish.”
Her reaction attracted significant backlash from social media users, many of whom sided with Afeez and argued that his assessment was fair.
The online criticism reportedly took a toll on Wumi, who was said to have been hospitalised shortly after the episode.
With Wednesday’s emotional reconciliation, fans and fellow actors have praised both stars for choosing peace and professionalism, expressing hope that the matter has been permanently laid to rest.
