In a sustainable boost in advancing health reform, the Kaduna State Government has partnered with a Saudi Arabia–based Muslim World League Headquarters to strengthen collaboration on the state’s new cardiac centre.
The delegation, led by Dr Abdurrahman Huwarai, briefed the Commissioner for Health, Hajiya Umma Ahmedon the purpose of their visit, which centred on assessing progress at the state-of-the-art cardiac hospital currently under construction and reinforcing the organisation’s partnership with the Kaduna State Government.
Huwarai noted that the facility, now 60% equipped, is designed to position Kaduna as a leading hub for advanced cardiac care in Nigeria.
He further highlighted the wide range of life-saving interventions the centre will provide upon completion, emphasising its potential to significantly reduce the burden of heart-related diseases across Kaduna State and the wider region.

Ahmedon expressed appreciation for the initiative and reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to supporting partnerships that expand access to quality healthcare.
She stressed that governor Sani remains deeply committed to improving the wellbeing of residents, particularly vulnerable, unserved and underserved populations.
The commissioner explained that the cardiac centre will complement the administration’s ongoing reforms and infrastructural improvements within the health sector.
He further described the collaboration as a welcome development aligned with the governor’s vision of strengthening specialised healthcare services and improving health outcomes.
To ensure technical precision and due diligence in the establishment of the hospital, she announced the immediate constitution of a technical advisory team.
She also assured the delegation of the ministry’s readiness to provide all necessary support to enable the timely completion and smooth take-off of the cardiac centre.
