Nigerian actor, comedian, and activist Adebowale Adedayo, better known as Mr Macaroni, has publicly debunked a serious rape allegation made against him.
The accusation originated from a user on the social media platform X, under the handle Lukurawa16703. The user claimed that Mr Macaroni raped a minor and used the Nigerian police to intimidate both the victim and her family into silence.
“This guy actually raped a 17-year-old girl and used the police to oppress her family. Now he’s an activist?” the user wrote, reposting a tweet in which Mr Macaroni criticised President Bola Tinubu’s administration over rising insecurity.

In response to the allegations, Mr Macaroni expressed his outrage, labelling the accusations as “horrendous and distasteful”.
He emphasised that he was addressing the claims not only to defend himself but also because of the potential harm such accusations could cause.
Mr Macaroni contended that the accuser is a supporter of President Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). He claimed that the allegations are part of a “propaganda” effort aimed at discrediting him for holding the government accountable.
In light of the gravity of the situation, Mr Macaroni has threatened to pursue legal action against the individual behind the account.
He hopes this will serve as a deterrent to others who may consider making unfounded allegations against him or other activists.
“I call for help in gathering relevant information about this individual that can assist me in taking necessary action,” he stated.
Mr Macaroni further asserted: “This tweet also serves as an opportunity to strongly refute this ridiculous accusation and any other kind from the infested supporters of the APC.
I expect their disease to continue to spread, as I won’t stop criticising this abomination of a government!” His statement illustrates his commitment to activism and his determination to counter what he perceives as injustices within the current political landscape.
As discussions surrounding the allegation unfold, Mr Macaroni’s response highlights the challenges faced by public figures, particularly activists engaging in political discourse.
The allegation not only impacts his personal life but also intersects with broader conversations about accountability and freedom of expression in Nigeria.
The coming days will reveal how this situation develops, as Mr Macaroni continues to stand firm in his convictions while navigating the fallout from these serious claims.
With his legal threats and calls for support, he aims to mitigate the damage caused by the accusations while continuing to advocate for governmental accountability and reform.
