Popular Nollywood comic actor Olatayo Amokade, widely known as Ijebu, has stepped into the ongoing social media dispute between Big Brother Naija season 10 winner, Imisi, and her mother.
Sharing a heartfelt message on his Instagram page this past Sunday, Ijebu urged the reality star to reconcile with her mother and end their public feud.
The conflict has gained significant attention following Imisi’s victory, which came with a lucrative N150 million prize. The situation escalated when Imisi’s mother publicly accused her of abandonment, raising questions about their complex relationship.

Imisi’s journey has not been easy. On the reality show, she opened up about a traumatic childhood filled with hardship. At age 13, she revealed she had an abortion after being raped twice at just 12 years old. “My dad sent me out of the house when I was just 11 years old,” Imisi recounted to fellow contestant Kola. “I started selling fufu with my grandma before her place got burnt. Then things got really difficult for me.”
Her journey illustrates a young woman who has faced immense challenges, and her newfound fame has brought both opportunities and complications.
Following her BBNaija success, tensions escalated when Imisi’s mother released a viral video, claiming she had been abandoned by her daughter.
In response, Imisi questioned the timing of her mother’s complaints, emphasising that their relationship had been strained long before her victory.
“Before I won BBNaija, I was living my life, and you wouldn’t even call me in one or two years, so why is there a problem now?” she remarked. Imisi defended her actions, stating, “God knows I tried. I still sent money to you last week and four days ago. Will I kill myself? You cannot remove N1 out of the money I won for anybody’s comfort. I have 100 people in the family looking up to me alone.”
In light of the public dispute, actor Ijebu has taken a compassionate stance. He implored Imisi to set aside her grievances and mend her relationship with her mother.
“Imisi, I know you are a good girl. The Bible says we should honour our parents,” he stated in his video address.
Ijebu advised Imisi to visit her mother, expressing, “This evening or tomorrow morning, I want you to go on your knees, hold her legs, and tell her you are sorry.
Let her pray for you. No matter what she might have done to you, she is still your mini god on earth.” He emphasised the importance of family, urging Imisi to resolve the issue privately and not to continue airing their differences online.
Ijebu’s heartfelt plea resonates with many who have witnessed the emotional turmoil between Imisi and her mother.
This situation serves as a reminder of the complexities of familial relationships, particularly in the face of newfound fame and success.
In a world often dominated by social media disputes, Ijebu’s call for compassion and reconciliation may provide a much-needed perspective on the importance of family.
