Famous Nigerian actress and model Annie Macaulay Idibia has addressed the controversy that followed her interaction with a post made by Laila Charani, the fifth wife of Senator Ned Nwoko, in which Laila accused co-wife Regina Daniels of introducing her to drugs.
Laila Charani had, on Thursday, shared a lengthy Instagram post alleging that Regina Daniels exposed her to drug use six years ago and was a negative influence within the household.
She further accused the actress of inappropriate relationships, claiming she would not trust her daughters around Regina “unsupervised.”

The post went viral, attracting strong public debate, especially after fans noticed that Annie Idibia, a close associate of Regina Daniels, had “liked” the post.
The action sparked mixed reactions online, with many social media users expressing disappointment and accusing Annie of publicly supporting an attack against her friend.
However, reacting to the backlash in a post on her Instagram story, Annie Idibia clarified that the engagement was unintentional. She described her brief interaction with the post as a mistake made while she was reading through the allegations.
“In the process of reading the rubbish that was alleged about my baby, Regina, I liked the post mistakenly,” she wrote.
“Over here, we don’t play with loyalty, and my baby knows I have her back, front, and side. Make una rest abeg.”
Her clarification quickly circulated across social media, with many fans accepting her explanation while others questioned how such an error could occur.
The latest drama comes amid an ongoing and messy marital fallout between Senator Ned Nwoko and his sixth wife, Regina Daniels, who recently accused the lawmaker of domestic violence and intimidation. Regina’s brother, Sammy, was also arrested during the dispute but later granted bail following public outcry.
Senator Nwoko has denied the domestic abuse allegations, insisting that Regina’s recent behaviour stems from substance use, an accusation the actress has firmly rejected.
