Vice President Kashim Shettima on Wednesday led a high-level Federal Government (FG) delegation to Zaria, Kaduna State, to commiserate with the Minister of Environment, Balarabe Lawal, on the passing of his mother, Hajiya Dayyabatu Lawal, who died at the age of 93.
Shettima stated that the delegation was in Kaduna at the directive of President Bola Tinubu to offer condolences not only to the Minister and his family but also to the Emir of Zazzau, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Ahmed Bamalli, and the entire Zazzau Emirate.
Speaking at the Minister’s family residence, Shettima described the loss of Hajiya Dayyabatu as a “great loss to the entire nation.”

He offered prayers for the repose of her soul, asking Allah to grant her Aljana Firdaus (paradise) and provide her family, the Zazzau Emirate, and the people of Kaduna State the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
He also prayed for continued peace and unity in the Zazzau Emirate and Nigeria generally.
Before visiting the Minister’s family home, Shettima paid a courtesy call on the Emir of Zazzau, HRH Alhaji Bamalli, at his palace to deliver Tinubu’s condolences.
He reiterated his prayers for the departed matriarch, who was also a respected figure in the Emirate.
In his remarks, the Emir of Zazzau expressed gratitude for Shettima’s visit, acknowledging his genuine concern for the people of the Emirate and Kaduna State.
He praised Shettima’s leadership qualities, stating that the support was a “testament to the values of leadership, solidarity and compassion of a leader.”

The FG delegation included the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari; Minister of Transportation, Sa’idu Ahmed Alkali; Minister of State for Regional Development, Uba Ahmadu; Special Adviser on General Duties to the President (Office of the Vice President), Aliyu Modibbo; Mohammed Sani Musa; and Yusuf Galambi.
