Following a run of ten winless league matches, Fiorentina dismissed head coach Stefano Pioli on Tuesday.
In announcing the decision, the club’s management stated that they are already seeking a new manager capable of restoring competitiveness to the squad, calling the move “essential to revitalising Fiorentina’s campaign.”
“Fiorentina can confirm that Stefano Pioli has been relieved of his duties as head coach of the first team,” the club’s statement read. “Daniele Galloppa will take over on an interim basis, beginning with this afternoon’s training session.”
The sacking comes just two days after the Tuscan side’s troubles deepened with a 1–0 home defeat to Lecce.
With only four points collected from four draws and six losses, Fiorentina currently sits at the bottom of the Serie A table.
Pioli had returned to the club in the summer of 2025 on a three-year contract, tasked with rebuilding the team. However, his second stint in Florence quickly unraveled.
Under his management, Fiorentina failed to win any of their first ten league matches — recording four draws and six defeats, scoring only seven goals while conceding sixteen. The dismal run left them rooted to the bottom with just four points.
Across all competitions, including European fixtures and the Coppa Italia, Pioli’s overall record was four wins, four draws, and six defeats in fourteen games.
The team consistently struggled in attack and showed defensive frailty, leading to mounting frustration among supporter’s.
