Chioma Ifemeludike, the African Action Congress (AAC) candidate for the November 8 Anambra State governorship election, has emphasised her extensive experience in governance and politics.
Speaking on Friday during an appearance on Prime Time, a programme on Arise Television monitored by NEW DAILY PRIME, Ifemeludike said her decision to contest for the governor’s seat was a natural progression of her long-standing involvement in political affairs.
“I won’t necessarily call my decision to run for the governor seat a transition because I have always been in the corridors of governance and politics,” she said.
Ifemeludike explained that her political engagement began during her time as a student unionist, a role she took on to give voice to students who lacked representation.
“What made me become a student unionist was to speak for students who didn’t have a voice. I have always been that person who took the responsibility of others,” she added.
She further noted that the AAC is positioning itself as a viable alternative for the people of Anambra State, and that this prompted her to step forward as a gubernatorial candidate.
“At this time in my life, the AAC is positioning as the only alternative for the people, it became imperative that I step into the position of making myself the number one person in Anambra State,” she said.
With a background in political science and decades of active engagement in student and political leadership, Ifemeludike aims to bring her experience to bear in the November elections, presenting herself as a candidate committed to representing the people’s interests and advancing governance reforms in the state.
