A 49-year-old man has died and two others have been injured in a triple stabbing incident in Uxbridge, west London, prompting a murder investigation.
Police were called to Midhurst Gardens at around 5:00 p.m on Monday following reports of multiple stabbings.
Officers found the 49-year-old dog walker with serious stab wounds; despite efforts by paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 45-year-old man was rushed to hospital with life-changing injuries, while a 14-year-old boy also sustained knife wounds that are not believed to be life-threatening.
A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder after being Tasered by police.
He was taken to hospital as a precaution but has since been moved into custody.
Detectives said the attack is not being treated as terrorism and that inquiries are ongoing to determine any link between the suspect and the victims.
Video footage shared online shows officers chasing the suspect down a residential street, repeatedly shouting “drop the knife” before firing a Taser.
Chief Superintendent Jill Horsfall described the incident as a “shocking and senseless act of violence” and said additional police patrols have been deployed to reassure residents. “Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this unimaginably difficult time,” she said.
Tributes have begun appearing near the scene, with residents expressing shock at the violence. One neighbour said she felt absolutely sick upon learning what had happened, adding, “The area used to be lovely, but it’s really gone downhill.”
Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with footage to come forward as investigations continue.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Metropolitan Police or call Crimestoppers anonymously.
