Billionaire businessman and nightlife mogul, Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, has revealed that he plans to retire from active business within the next decade to focus on enjoying life and spending more time with his family.
Speaking in a recent interview, the 50-year-old entrepreneur explained that by the time he turns 60, he hopes to step back from the fast-paced demands of business and dedicate his time to exploring the world alongside his wife.

According to the father of five, his current focus is on building a solid legacy and ensuring that his children are financially independent before he finally takes a break from active work.
“By the time I turn 60, I’ll be done. I want to travel the world and give my wife the best experience life can offer. The idea now is to make sure my kids come up and become independent to live for the rest of their lives. No more work,” he stated.
Obi Cubana, who has built a thriving business empire spanning entertainment, hospitality, real estate, and agriculture, said his busy lifestyle today is all part of a broader plan to secure a comfortable and sustainable future for himself and his family.
He admitted that while his schedule is often filled with multiple engagements and business trips, each move is strategically aimed at strengthening his legacy and establishing systems that can run smoothly even in his absence.
“I’m working hard now so that later, I can rest easy knowing my businesses and family are in good hands. It’s not just about wealth; it’s about creating something that lasts beyond me,” he added.
The nightlife tycoon, who rose to national prominence following his lavish 2021 burial ceremony for his late mother in Oba, Anambra State, has since expanded his influence into several sectors, including hospitality through his Cubana Group, real estate, and luxury lifestyle brands.
Despite his success, Obi Cubana emphasised the importance of balance, noting that he doesn’t want to spend his later years chasing deals but rather enjoying the results of his years of hard work.
He said his dream retirement involves world tours, new experiences, and giving his wife the best possible life after years of sacrifice and support.
The businessman, who often shares motivational insights about hard work, family, and success, also advised younger entrepreneurs to plan their futures carefully.
He encouraged them to not only focus on making money but also to build sustainable systems and invest in family values.
“The goal is not just to make money but to build something that will continue to grow even when you’re not around. At some point, you have to enjoy the fruits of your labour,” he said.
