Nigerian music superstar Tiwa Savage has revealed that she is currently at a stage in her life where her romantic prospects are either older men in their 50s or already married.
Speaking during a recent episode of the American podcast, Air Service, the award-winning singer and mother of one shared candid thoughts about her dating reality and how it has shaped her views on marriage.
According to Tiwa, while she still believes in love and companionship, the pool of eligible men available to her at this point is quite limited. As a result, she admitted that she is open to the idea of becoming a second wife, provided the relationship is based on mutual respect and understanding.

“If I meet somebody who can really marry me, they are either in their 50s or already married,” she said. “So, I don’t know. Maybe I can be a second wife. I think so. I could be a second wife.”
Tiwa Savage further explained that if she ever found herself in such a situation, she would have no issues with her co-wife. The singer emphasized that she is not a confrontational person and would be focused on her career rather than domestic competition.
“I think I can get along with the first wife, and she’s going to love me because I’m not going to be troublesome,” Tiwa said. “I’m going to be going on tours; I’m not really going to stress you. I’m very respectful, I know that you are the first wife and would accord you that respect.”
Her remarks have since sparked mixed reactions online, with fans and social media users sharing differing opinions. While some praised her honesty and maturity, others debated the cultural and moral implications of her openness to polygamy.
For Tiwa Savage, however, her comments reflect the realities of balancing fame, success, and personal life as a single woman in her 40s. Having achieved global recognition as one of Africa’s most influential female artists, she has often spoken about the challenges that come with her celebrity status, especially in romantic relationships.
Tiwa Savage was previously married to music executive Tunji Balogun, popularly known as TBillz, between 2013 and 2018. The marriage produced a son, Jamil Balogun, but ended amid mutual allegations of infidelity and irreconcilable differences.
Since then, Tiwa has kept her romantic life largely private, focusing on her music career and international projects.
