The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has come to the defense of Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo following his public support for President Bola Tinubu.
During an interview with Arise News on Monday, APGA National Publicity Secretary Okpara Ejimofor said that Soludo’s comments were being misinterpreted and should be understood within the party’s principles.
Ejimofor explained that there are two key factors behind the governor’s stance.

He said first, Soludo and Tinubu have been close friends for over two decades and secondly, APGA has a long-standing “written convention” of supporting the ruling party at the national level.
“It’s not out of place if parties that align according to their ideology, work together,” Ejimofor stated.
He argued that this alignment is not a sign of opportunism but rather a step toward building a more ideological political system in Nigeria.
He emphasised that the ultimate goal of such cooperation is to create a “country that works” for its citizens.
The APGA spokesperson reiterated that the party’s primary focus is on advancing national development and improving the lives of Nigerians, especially the youth and the underprivileged.
He stressed that APGA will support any policies and partnerships that achieve this goal, regardless of political affiliation.
